LGBTQ* Tumblrs We Wanted To Share

PFLAG Mom and a word cloud describing how she felt when her son came out as Trans*

Lovely Tumblr Family and Friends,

If you are not familiar with PFLAG Mom on Tumblr, I highly recommend you check out her blog. She is a phenomenal ally voice and offers wonderful insight outside of the teen/twenty-something bubble. She is also a constant source of inspiration, passionate dialogues, compassionate love, thoughtful opinions, and acts as an all-inclusive educator.

The KNOWhomo team knows the importance of allies and the community of PFLAG. Tell her hello and feel free to mention that we shared her information with you. We consider her family.

-Rebecca

Trans* Insight Vlogs You May Have Missed

Moderators Adrian and Zak discuss overcompensation.

If you are unfamiliar with Art Of Transliness, do yourself a solid and check them out. Adrian (his personal Tumblr) and Zak are someone you should keep close on your dash. They are two of the most dedicated and compassionate people I have had the joy of getting to speak with over the last two years.

P.S. Zak’s mom is the moderator of PFLAG Mom’s Tumblr.

KNOW THIS TUMBLR
I’M A PFLAG MOM

Speaking about awesome supportive families - Have you met/tumbled across PFLAG Mom, yet?  This amazing blogger is a proud mother who supplies amazing outreach, scholarship information, insight, advice and daily pick-me-ups for a community that so often yearns for a loving family member.
(From pflagmom.tumblr.com’s about me page)
About me
I have two children, both were FAAB (female assigned at birth), my daughter is cisgender and my younger son is trans*. My daughter is married to the father of my two grandchildren: a 4-year-old girl and a baby boy born in May.
My husband and I are both psychology professors at the same small public liberal arts and sciences university in Missouri.
I’ve been a member of PFLAG since 2005, founded and was president of a local chapter (since disbanded), and am currently a member representative for the region. I am also the faculty advisor for a university student organization designed to provide support and education for queer allies.
I earned a PhD in developmental psychology from University of California at Riverside (1993). (Undergraduate in psychology from San Diego State University).
I have one tattoo on my wrist.
I like some labels because it gives people a starting point to know something about you: I’m a Jewish, vegetarian, feminist, liberal, animal-rights activist, straight but not narrow, proud PFLAG mom. Just don’t try to stereotype me
