Capital Pride 2013 was even bigger and crazier than last year, and it was a pleasure to meet so many great people. A Park Ranger set up a talk “From Selma to Stonewall” by the fountain at DuPont Circle before the parade, chronicling civil rights movements in the country and sharing her own story (1st pic). I met two of the students, Zoe and Alex, behind the recent (and successful) GSA movement at the University of Notre Dame (2nd pic). And so many more fabulous people who showed their pride in body suits, with flags, in homemade t-shirts or doll baby dresses.

Thank you to all of those awesome people who gladly let me take photos of them and gave permission to have them posted. If you get a chance, check out the 3 hour parade and the vast festival down Pennsylvania Avenue next year. It’s well worth the trip for the weekend and not terribly expensive if you can find a cheap hotel. Happy Pride everyone!
