BLACK CAT TAVERN
BEFORE STONEWALL - on February 11th, 1967, more than 200 people gathered outside of the BLACK CAT TAVERN in Silver Lake, California. The protest was in response to a police raid on New Year’s Eve (1966) when police stormed the small club because they witnessed two men kissing. The night of the raid 16 people were arrested.
